At FunBoo, we love bringing popular themes to life — with a safe, family-friendly twist! When one of our clients asked for a Squid Game–inspired birthday party, we knew we had to turn the famous series into a playful, kid-approved adventure filled with laughter, games, and unforgettable memories.
Here’s how we transformed the hit Netflix show into a fun and exciting children’s party experience.
Setting the Stage: Decor & Atmosphere
From the moment guests arrived, they knew this was going to be a special celebration. Our team created a stunning setup with balloons, themed cut-outs, and a custom entry sign to match the Squid Game aesthetic. Kids and parents loved taking photos with the famous “doll” and the iconic guards, instantly setting the mood for the games to come.
Step 1: The Invitation to Play
Every party needs a dramatic start! We kicked things off with face painting — each child picked a number, which was painted on their cheek or hand, making them feel like a true participant in the game.
Then, our “guards” and the mysterious “Front Man” wandered the venue, challenging kids to a quick game of rock-paper-scissors. Winners received a custom plastic card that read “You are invited” in both English and Korean — just like in the show, but with a kid-friendly twist!
Game 1: Red Light, Green Light (with a Silly Twist)
No Squid Game party would be complete without Red Light, Green Light! Instead of
eliminations, kids who moved at the wrong time had to complete funny challenges
like:
Hopping like a bunny
Telling a silly joke
Taking a few steps backward
The game was so popular that we had to run three full rounds — and the laughter
didn’t stop.
Game 2: The Dalgona Cookie Challenge
During the food break, kids got to try the famous Korean dalgona candy challenge. This game has deep cultural roots — in Korea, dalgona candy was a popular street snack in the 1970s and 80s, and children would often try to carve out shapes without breaking them. At the party, kids carefully worked on their cookies, and parents loved seeing them focus and cheer each other on. It was equal parts challenging and delicious!
Game 3: Teamwork Cornhole Race
Next came the ultimate test of teamwork. We marked a square on the floor and set
up two cornhole boards at opposite ends. Kids paired up, had their legs tied
together (three-legged race style), and raced to score two bags in the hole
while racing against the timer!
This game was a huge hit — kids kept switching partners, regrouping, and asking
to play again and again.
Sweet Suspense: The Piñata Guard
Throughout the games, our guards kept building excitement by teasing the giant piñata shaped like a Squid Game guard. After each round, we secretly refilled it to create suspense. Finally, at the end of the party, kids got their chance to smash it open, releasing gold chocolate coins and sweet surprises everywhere.
Cake & Celebration
Of course, no birthday party is complete without the cake! After all the games, laughter, and suspense, the kids gathered for a cake moment to celebrate the birthday star in true FunBoo style.
Why Parents Loved It
This Squid Game–inspired party was a perfect mix of fun challenges, teamwork, and themed entertainment — all 100% safe and kid-friendly. Parents were thrilled to see their kids fully engaged, making memories, and enjoying a one-of-a-kind experience they won’t forget.
